After more than 20 years of wearing costume jewellery, my skin suddenly turned against me. Earrings I’d worn forever like my everyday studs and my favourite dangly pairs started to make my ears sore and throb within minutes. Even the gentle swing of a dangle earring made my lobes ache. It was confusing, frustrating, and honestly a little heartbreaking. My body was changing, and my jewellery had to change with it.

Letting go of my old collection wasn’t easy, but it pushed me to search for something better. It forced me to search for something my skin wouldn’t fight against. That’s when I discovered PVD‑coated 18k gold. It's hypoallergenic, durable, affordable, and identical in appearance to solid gold without the solid‑gold price tag. And the best part? I don’t have to take it off. It’s waterproof, sweat‑proof, pool‑proof, and beach‑proof so I can shower, swim, work out, and live my life and my jewellery stays beautiful.

But as I rebuilt my collection, I hit another wall. So much of the PVD jewellery I found was… a bit boring. Safe. Minimal in a way that felt flat. I wanted pieces with personality. When I couldn’t find it, I decided to curate it.

That moment born from irritation, sudden sensitivity, and a desire for beauty with meaning became the start of my own business.
